I Think They Missed the Quote

We've probably heard once in a while that "there's no fool like an old fool."  Well I beg to differ.  I think what gets my goat more is a young fool.

It really breaks my heart to see young women staying in self-defeating relationships.  I remember when I was in my twenties.  Yes at times love can hurt.  However, I would rather see pain on my face than that of my children.  I could not see my children want for anything in the name of love for a man.  A grown man has the power to do something a child can't do and that's take care of themselves.

Sometimes you have to let go of toxic relationships for the betterment of your future and your child's future.  If your baby doesn't have food, diapers, or any other necessities then you need to step up your game to make sure they do.

I don't know what changed with time but I remember the day when a man couldn't look me in my face and definitely could not breathe on me if they couldn't step up to the plate and be a man.  If I had to walk up the street to the store for necessities by the time my tired feet reached home oh heck yes there was going to be changes.

Now in all honesty I have to say I was blessed.  Nowadays I wish I could have put six or seven of the men interested in me on lay-a-way for the future.

I was always told "everything that feels good to you is not good for you."

Two of the most empowering things you can say to bring about change to situations which weigh you down at times is "no" and "no more".

You can always stay in love, and the thing is you don't have to stay in a toxic relationship to do so.  Absence makes the heart grow fonder - try it some time.  Men don't normally miss a good thing until it is gone.

I realize it can go both ways and other ways nowadays as well.  Free your mind and your soul will follow.
